OFFICIAL Card - Turkey

This card proved to be an interesting challenge for my kids when it arrived over Christmas Break. My son had several very good, albeit wrong guesses - China, USSR and then several wacky ones. My daughter, first answer! And I brought the mail in that day! Baris lives in Ankara and teaches English at the university. A great flag of Turkey for my collection - thank you!

This bird illustration is simply wonderful. Love the colours and the randomness of the background with different letters and numbers. Yagmur from Istanbul wrote one of her favourite quotes about karma. Very fitting for this household with some of the things going on here. Perfect timing!

Gomze lives in Istanbul, Turkey and tells me it is a beautiful city. She likes reading and "wandering" historical places. Sounds fun! The view on the card shows Leander's Tower which sounds like it has a lot of history.

Anna, a lawyer from Kiev sent this interesting card to me. The card itself is from Turkey and shows Evil Eye Beads. For some reason when I read this my mind sees "Red Devil" not "Red Evil", which then makes me wonder more as they are all blue and black not red. She shared her favourite quote with me which is great - "respect the past, create the future". Do you have a favourite quote?

Thank You Card - Cemre from Turkey

Last June I sent a card to Cemre. When he received it he asked if he could send me a card in return. He wrote telling me he is an amateur photographer and that his city, Istanbul, is very impressive. The card he chose for me shows Bosphorus and definitely saw some travel marks on it's way to me.

Last October I received this card from Marina in Moscow, Russia. The cards shows views of various cities in Turkey. She did not write that much, perhaps it is from her travels? Who knows! Either way, it looks nice.

Shortly after the Christmas decorations came down and the house goes back to looking lonely and unfestive this card arrived from Sezen in Turkey to help pick up the mood. It may sound strange but a Santa card from this country is not something I would have imagined when I signed up for Postcrossing. While they didn't use a stamp that is OK - how many times do you get anything from Turkey? Metered postage is fine by me!
