OFFICIAL Card - Norway

Not everyday a handsome fellow comes to my mailbox! Alexander Tretyakov is a Russian skeleton racer and champion having won Olympic gold at Sochi in 2014. The card was sent to me from a family in Norway - thank you Daniel, Maria and Lidia!

Hanna and Tomek are originally from Poland and are now living in Oslo, Norway. They sent this card to me during the Sochi Olympics. The action shot is from the Men's Gold Medal Game at the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics. They wrote this was the most exciting final games in hockey history. I'll be 100% honest, I could have watched the game but unless it was last week I wouldn't remember! Great card and honestly great condition given the game was 20 years ago.

OFFICIAL Card - Germany

Funny thing I received this card the same day as the card from my brother in law. At first I thought JJ had sent me two. Imagine my surprise when I see that two cards from Norway came on the same day. This one showing the Flag of Norway was sent to me from Nicole who recently travelled there from her home in Germany.

My brother in law certainly racks up the travel points! Already a month into the New Year and he has been in as many different cities for work and leaves next week for Sochi. At the end of November he was in Stavanger, Norway covering the World Curling Championships. Lucky for me he took the time to send me this card. He wrote saying it was VERY expensive - anywhere from $17-25 for a beer. Good thing you were so busy on the job! Thanks JJ!

Direct Swap - Cathrine from Norway

At the beginning of March, Cathrine posted some Easter cards she had to swap. Norway was a country I had yet to receive a card from and I was happy to have the chance to swap. Cathrine chose this card and I chose the one shown below. Funny I couldn't even imagine a store here selling an Easter postcard, folded greeting cards, yes, but postcards never. Seems it is all touristy, all the time! The card translates to say "Happy Easter". I am really happy with it and hope my card makes it to Cathrine soon.
