Lottery Win - Canada from Daphne

On a Facebook page that my friend Lynda belongs to Daphne held a lottery. Not too sure what was involved, however the prize was she was going to send a card from her vacation to someone you nominated. Lucky for me, Lynda nominated me and "we" won! Daphne sent me that great view card showing the Canadian UNESCO site of Jasper National Park. She writes Pyramid Mountain is a favourite spot to visit. I can see why! Thank you Lynda and Daphne.

Direct Swap - Angie from Canada

I {love} our library. I am honestly there every week at least once, sometimes twice. Some weeks as many as four times. Both my kids and I are readers, plus all the DVD's and kids programming they attend. If they issued a loyalty card I would be near the top of the list for sure! The Vancouver Public Library has fascinated me for a long time. Such an interesting design. I had been looking for this card for awhile and luckily Angie went on a trip there and was able to pick one up for me. Another great swap with her - thank you Angie!

Random Act of Smiliness - Liz from Canada

Liz and I first met last summer at the Toronto meet-up and then again in the Fall. We have swapped a few times too. A few weeks ago she sent me this great "S" card just because. She felt like she had lost some writing mojo (my words not hers) and was sending a few RAS cards looking to find it. Lucky for me I was one of those she sent to. Love the message, the extras and that she was thinking of me. Thanks Liz!

Direct Swap - Lynn from Canada

 As I mentioned the other day there is a great Canadian swapping group on Facebook. Lynne and I connected in that group when I posted looking for this card. When I think of Canadian stadiums this is as iconic as it gets. The Montreal Olympics brings back so many memories for me for so many different reasons. I have never been to Olympic Stadium itself but have seen it many times when driving through Montreal. Was happy Lynne had a card and surprised how quickly it got to me - three days, including a weekend! Great to connect with you Lynne and thank you again!

Lily is 14 and wrote that she visited the Bundesrat with her family last year. I like sending cards of places I have been, it helps recreate the memories. Another new UNESCO stamp as well

This picture reminds me so much of my two kids when they were younger. They would hug and kiss often and now barely want to be in the same room as each other! It is just so precious and innocent, even with a big old postal smudge.  Chantal in 10 years old and simply wrote "Hope you like this picture of young love?" - I do.

The card also has another UNESCO stamp on it. Never even realized it before I posted about it the other day as I have received several of these in the past. This one is of the old town of Regensburg in Germany.

OFFICIAL Card - Germany

I received this card from Tina, a taxi driver from Northern Germany earlier in the week. It is a city map of Kiel, which looks like it is fairly close to where she lives.She wrote telling me how her summer has been cold and rainy and how she is hoping for sun in the last few weeks of August. She used an interesting stamp on this one. It is part of a multi-year series of UNESCO sites issued by the German post office. This one in particular is of Biertan, which is part of the Fortified Churches of Transylvania.
