Thank You Card - Danut from Romania

I like to try and help other people out, even if it is in small ways. I believe those little acts of kindness towards others is what makes the world smile. Danut posted on-line that he had a friend who was new to Postcrossing. He was asking if anyone wanted to send a card to her to help get her started. Now I will be the first to admit it is nice if someone offers to send a card in return but really isn't necessary. The offer might be "expected" (it is just being polite after all) but not too often do I take people up on it. Sometimes, of course there are exceptions, like when a card just grabs my eye. Danut had just that card! It is from the Egg Museum in Moldovita. The website listed on the back, oddly didn't have much and nothing in English. The link is the best I can find. These miniature works of art are extraordinary!!! Thank you Danut for introducing me to this art!

OFFICIAL Card - Ukraine

Earlier in the week, this card from Tanya in Kyiv, Ukraine arrived. She wrote telling me she has had a hard time locating postcards recently (I know that feeling!). She recently visited a ethnographic museum, Ivan Honchar Museum, and picked this card up. The back says the card is of  "Recruits to the Romanian Army, 1935". Sounds like an interesting place to visit. The stamps Tanya chose for the card are some of the most eclectic ones I have received. I still can't figure out what is up with that one nose in the lower right - weird! In a nice way.

Direct Swap - Carla from Romania

At the beginning of June, Carla contacted me about a swap. I received this card from her in exchange for a card of Toronto. She wrote telling me while she lives in Bucharest, Sibiu is her favourite city. The card shows a view of a hotel called Casa Luxemburg. I never heard of this city before but I now know it is in Transylvania, is considered one of the most idyllic places to live in Europe and it has it's own film festival. All this from one simple card.

OFFICIAL Card - Romania

Anamaria a self-described day dreamer from Romania who sent me this card at the end of October. It features Florin Peirsic a famous actor known for his beauty. He is best known in her country for his roles in historical movies in the 1980's and this still if from the film "The Yellow Rose". She also mentions that his son, Florin Piersic Jr is a real hunk but not as talented as his father. Of course, I had to check him out LOL - you be the judge!
