OFFICIAL Card - Finland

Gertrud lives in Helsinki, Finland and sent me this great card which I received on Monday. It shows, as she describes the "idyllic" Postbacken Museum in Porvoo. The buildings date back to the 18th and 19th century and almost all on on their original sites. Looks like it would be a very interesting place to explore. Haven't seen a Moomin stamp in awhile - they are fun!

  1. The postcard reminds me a bit of "Bokrijk", a Belgian open air museum with houses from, at least, 100 years old. The houses are original, but are rebuild at the site of the museum.
And call me weird, but while Moomins are taking over the snail mail world, I'm not that crazy about them.

    1. Thanks for your post! I will have to check out the Belgian site you mention. I must admit I am not a huge Moomin fan either although the occasional stamp does put a smile on my face :)

  2. I'm not a fan of the Moomins either. Funnily enough, I featured a stamp depicting them today on my blog! http://cartes-postales-meduse.blogspot.com/2013/01/todays-postcard_4.html
