YuTing sent this card with an ink painting which she describes as traditional Chinese painting. I remember having a painting done for me when I was in Qufu, pretty much the exact spot where the Wikipedia photo was taken.

Greetings from China - Direct Swap with YiMan

Drumroll please.......My PostalLove "Greetings from" collection is complete - again! YiMan and I connected through Facebook at the beginning of November and their card arrived just before Christmas. They joke that one of famous Chinese listed, Cai Lun, might be a relative as they share the same family name. You never know!

Through the Postcrossing forum I arranged to swap for what I thought was the PostalLove Greetings from China card. While this great Panda card arrived I guess somewhere in between something got lost in translation. Has this ever happened to you?

Grace is a Chinese student studying and living in the Boston area of the USA. She sent this card to me showing the interior of the Xiguan Grand House in Guangzhou, China.

Delilah (such a pretty name!) lives in Hong Kong and is temporarily working in China. She sent this beautiful night view of Victoria Harbour. Stunning!

Mengjing sent me this really fun card back in August. I love all of the flags, they are each so different. For me, some are so distinct and recognizable and others... not so much. How about you? Can you easily recognize some? Most? All???

Random Act of Smiliness - Yantai Meet-up Card

Craig won one of the cards in the lottery we held for the Ingersoll Meet-up. He too was organizing a meet-up for the first time in his hometown of Yantai, China  on the same day. He had a few questions surrounding meet-ups which I was happy to answer and help share our experiences with him. He offered to send a card from his meet-up and I was happy to recieve it. He later emailed me to tell me for a first effort it was a success!

Linda includes photography as one of  her hobbies in the message she wrote me. This view of The Great Wall of China is stunning and a perfect choice of card. I can completely understand why it is a UNESCO site.

Minty is a new Postcrosser and this is one of the first cards she sent. Lucky me! The image shows a vintage view of Xitang, a historic town in China. Look familiar? Many of the final scenes of Mission Impossible III were filmed there. Coincidentally, I just watched the end of that movie a few weeks ago.

Youling is a university student in Shanghai. He is studying Human Geography. I'll be honest, that is something I have never heard of and honestly can't even imagine what it means! Oh well, I guess it means you can teach this old dog new tricks. The card he sent shows the Maglev Train passing through Shanghai. My second new thing I've learnt from this card! More of the lovely bird stamps from China too.

Lucky me - this is the third card Hu has sent me. The others can be seen here. This card shows the Chinese Zodiac and while it doesn't say, I believe it is the Year of the Snake. Thank you HU!!!!

This is a very welcome card to my collection. I only wish I had more subway maps, I do find them so interesting. The Beijing Subway came to me from Wang a geology student in Beijing. He chose some great stamps too - birds and Olympics - two of my favourite design subjects! He shared with me that he volunteered at the 2008 Games - fun!

Most weeks I can't keep up with my brother in law, he is literally, here, there - everywhere! Shortly after he returned from Sochi he was off to Beijing. He sent the kids and I these beautiful cards showing Great Wall of China. One of the most fascinating places I have been. The size and steepness is truly astounding. This also happens to be a UNESCO site.

Hu sent me this official card back In January. When I registered the card I mentioned that Jinan was one of the cities I visited on my tour of China in 2000. He responded and promised to send me another card. What a nice surprise to receive this card in April from him. Love the colours, I think they are such a stunning contrast! The Water Cube is a beautiful building. Thanks again Hu!

The user "Kolnriver" sent me this card. He wrote that he saw I had many cards of China and he chose this one showing Potala Palace in Tibet. He writes this view is 20 years old as there are other buildings around it now. This is also a UNESCO site.

Gin sent this card showing the most famous view of her state - Fenghuang Ancient City or The Phoenix as she writes in English. It is a tentative UNESCO site.

OFFICIAL Card - Russia

Svetlana lives in Yelabuga, Russia, a city I personally had not heard of before. She wrote that she hasmany cards from China and chose this one for me. It shows a view from the Huangshan Mountain region. This card travelled just over 8,000km to get to me. I had to smile when Svetlana wrote "for me, Canada incredibly far, however, probably as Russia for you". Funny how that works!

Ya Ya lives outside of Beijing and sent this card wishing me a "Happy New Year!". The card has a sweet drawing of a Chinese Money Tree. I would plant one of those if it were true! I also love the different rubber stamps she used to adorn the card, I had to include the full back to share.
