Merry Christmas International Edition!

These cards were all sent to me from on-line friends I have made via swapping in certain Facebook groups. I was truly happy to know they each thought of me when they sat down to send out their Christmas cards for the year.

Heather in Australia sent this bright and fun maxi-card. The date of issue is my birthday - what's not to love!

Last card is from Sara in Switzerland. She recently had a baby so I was impressed that she even sent cards! A sweet little bird.

Yes, you will be seeing several of these cards in the next few weeks as these have been the focus of my cards for the last while....

Sara and I connected on Facebook and this was our first swap. Really happy with this card from her home country. I knew the fact about the Red Cross as my daughter did a presentation for her Girl Guide Unit on Switzerland last year. I also love the country motto - totally reminds me of the Three Musketeers!

Lottery Win - Joanna from Switzerland

This is from another lottery I was lucky enough to win in the summer. This metal postcard was being offered by Joanna. It features an advertising for Coca-Cola. I have always preferred Coke so for me it was a no-brainer to try and win it. Because it was metal she was sending in an envelope which I totally understand. I am glad she translated the back for me as I probably would of thought is said "affix stamp here". I had a good chuckle when I read "Please send in an envelope" and I agree with her - why add the address lines? Who knows! This is my first metal card.

Martin from Bern, Switzerland sent this vintage card showing views of his country as well as the coat of arms of the different cantons of this country.

Markus from Amriswil, Switzerland sent me this card last week. It is a card he had made from a photograph he took. He wrote saying the area he lives in is famous for having thousands of apple trees. This picture he says is a typical Autumn landscape and is about 10 km from his house. When I receive cards of this quality with such a personal affinity to the view I don't understand why others are not interested in "homemade" cards. There loss is my gain I guess, as this is a stunning card.

Last week I received my third card from Switzerland. Doris sent me this card which shows the Zervreilahorn mountain and Lake Zervreilasee in the town of Vals. This looks so beautiful. She also used a fantastic bird stamp.

Andy from Switzerland sent me this multi-view card of Ascona in November. Ascona is located on  Lake Maggiore in the southern Italian speaking part of the country. This looks like a nice town - the lake and the mountains look beautiful. Never would have imagined palm trees in Switzerland but I am always ready to learn something new! And another great bird stamp.

Sabrina lives near Zurich and sent me this great card of the Swiss Parliament Building in Bern. I love seeing the kids in bathing suits playing in the fountains having fun in front of such a serious building - great contrast!!!
