Alida will single handily grow my collection of sheep cards. I love her for that, so thoughtful and there to put a smile on my face when I need one. She sent this card in the beginning of May and writes that while she is seeing many lambs and sheep locally but no local postcards. This view card show sheep grazing with Mount Cook, NZ in the background. Thank you Alida!

Direct Swap - Aaron from New Zealand
Aaron was interested in swapping for Year of the Horse Stamps and was offering the same. As I do not have too many cards from New Zealand I though it would make a great swap. I asked him to surprise me with a card, preferably a bird and was happy when this card arrived. It shows the Brown Kiwi and the stamp is very nice. Kind of Asian in design and at the same time not at all. Funny enough this bird came up shortly after in some homework conversations. It was kind of neat to pull this card out to show the kids, might be old school, but way more bang for the buck than plain old Google.

OFFICIAL Card - New Zealand
Yesterday I received my very first card from New Zealand. To say I was super excited when I saw this card from Stephanie was an understatement. Funny how the little things in life can really perk you up! She tells me she lives in Auckland and while it is winter they never have snow. Wish I could say that some days! This is a great map with some beautiful views of her country. Check out the stamps too - really different.

Direct Swap - Melanie from Canada
Here is another map card Melanie sent me that was a duplicate from her collection. She received it from a friend whose dad was a cartographer working in New Zealand on a map of the ocean floor. How interesting!
