Peter has one of the best profile pictures I've seen in awhile. A family picture and he is wearing Lederhosen. Just days before receiving his card my son and I were discussing this style of dress. What are the odds! The card he sent shows the parliament building in Munich, known as Maximilianeum. The stamp too is an interesting one, the first time I've seen this one.

OFFICIAL Card - USA
Ed lives in Salem, Oregon and sent this very different black and white card to me in July. The image shows the State Capitol Building engulfed in flames as it was destroyed by fire in 1935. Even odder is it was the second time that happened. He wrote me a bit about himself and says he works for the state and is regularly in the new capitol building. While tragic, the image and the information taught me something new.

OFFICIAL Card - USA
I absolutely loved the message that Heather wrote on the card she sent me of the Michigan State Capitol in July. One of the prompts I suggest is to describe your ideal day. The day she described could easily be my ideal day too! Sleeping in, reading a good book, Mexican and Thai food and DVDs. I would swap out her cats for kids and add in some wine and chocolate. Sounds perfect - no? What would your ideal day look like?

Lottery Win - Brenda from Canada
I like to blog. It is pretty much my only outlet for writing a complete sentence other than a note on the kids schoolwork. I like to read other blogs too. I have several that I check out on a regular basis. Brenda was holding a contest awhile ago on her blog and I was the lucky winner - yeah me! She picked a perfect card for me - thank you! The view is of the East Block office on Parliament Hill. First occupied by Georges-Etienne Cartier it was the office of many Prime Ministers including Pierre Trudeau. Brenda writes the library is her favourite part of Parliament Hill and I would have to agree. Saw it for the first time when we visited a few years ago. Thank you Brenda!

OFFICIAL Card - England
Every once in awhile a card just makes you stop. For me, this was one of them. Alison wrote one of the longest messages ever. If she were a friend I would of picked up the phone to tell her how much she brightened my day! The image itself has lots going on - it was issued for the 2012 London Olympics and has the flag, Big Ben, House of Parliament as well as some "athletes". Super card that made my day!

OFFICIAL card - Germany
Ralf lives in Bochum, Germany and sent this card showing views of his hometown. He told me about a fast food from this region called "Curry-wurst, pommes, rot-weib" - sausage with curry sauce, fries with mayonnaise and ketchup and tells me it is delicious. Not a fan of ketchup but the rest does sound like an interesting combination, although I can almost feel the heartburn! And no, I don't think I'll have a bubble tea with that! Fun stamp he chose for me too.

OFFICIAL Card - USA
I am sure I have mentioned this before but there sure do seem to be a lot of Postcrossers in Texas! I have so many great cards in my collection from this state. Dee-Dee lives outside of Dallas and sent this fun multi-view. "Big-letter" cards are one of the many different styles of cards people collect. While this is from a different company than the one in the article it is very nice.

OFFICIAL Card - Germany
Martina wrote to me about her spring cleaning efforts, something I feel I am doing every week regardless of the season! The view on this card shows the City Hall in Stralsund, which is also an UNESCO site.

OFFICIAL Card - Russia
Nastya lives in St Petersburg, Russia and is an editor for a publishing house. She sent me this vintage view card of the city Tver. While there is a lot written on the front and back of the card my attempts to find more info online about the buildings just is not working for me today. On the front it lists - Lenin Square, The Tver Central District Administration and The City Duma. On the back it says Sudebnaya (Court) Square. The District Court. Nastya also chose a Sochi 2014 stamp which is a new one for my collection.

OFFICIAL Card - USA
Katie had just moved to Salt Lake City, Utah from Wisconsin when she sent me this card in May. She wrote telling me she lives at the base of Wasatch Mountains. The card she sent shows the State Capitol Building in Salt Lake City. I must admit I much prefer sunsets to sunrises - which do you prefer?

OFFICIAL Card - Russia
Sergey is from Tyumen, Russia. To be honest, it was a Russian city I had never heard of before his card arrived. He wrote telling it is an oil capital and educational centre of Western Siberia. This cards depicts the Administrative building or Oblast of Tyumen Region. Sergey also used some stamps that were new to me.

OFFICIAL Card - USA
When sending a card on Postcrossing you are given the option of uploading the image. I do this for all the cards I send. I find about half the cards I receive have been uploaded which is great, however sometimes I do change the image to show the travel lines of the card. I just had to do it with this one. Shelby from California sent this card of Barack Obama as she states "...because he is the royalty of our country! LOL!" For some reason the white smudge that appears as a moustache on this card just cracks me up. Couldn't have done that better with liquid paper if you tried! Shelby also told me about the supper she was making which sounded delish, her workout for the day plus the fact she has lost 141 lbs - WTG!!!!

OFFICIAL Card - Germany
Another of the "lost on my desk" cards that I received back at the beginning of April. Here I thought I was slowly getting myself up to date with getting all my cards on my blog but finding another dozen tucked away has just made that number balloon!
Michael lives near Bremen, Germany and sent me this card showing the Reichstag in Berlin. The interior view looks so modern when compared to the outside of the building as shown in the link. A very interesting building.
