Lottery Win - Canada from Daphne

On a Facebook page that my friend Lynda belongs to Daphne held a lottery. Not too sure what was involved, however the prize was she was going to send a card from her vacation to someone you nominated. Lucky for me, Lynda nominated me and "we" won! Daphne sent me that great view card showing the Canadian UNESCO site of Jasper National Park. She writes Pyramid Mountain is a favourite spot to visit. I can see why! Thank you Lynda and Daphne.

Jordan from Ellen

My son has one of the sweetest friends. The kind of kid who is genuinely kind, polite and honestly just a nice person. No drama only good times when the two of them get together. His Mom - Ellen - and I have got to know each other over the years through the boys. This past May she travelled to Jordan to visit her Grandma. She didn't know I collected cards but didn't even hesitate when I asked if she could send me one. I can see the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! I loved seeing all the pictures she posted online during her trip, even the airport looked amazing! She looked like she was having a great time catching up with family and just relaxing. It took just over two months but these two cards arrived on the same day in mid July. Great additions from a new country for me. Thank you Ellen!

The first card shows views of Petra a UNESCO site and the second shows modern Amman.

Australia from Michael

I {love} this guy!!! Hands down this is one card that will always make me smile. In fact I have had this on my fridge for so long that I forgot I hadn't blogged it yet. My dearest friend Michael was in Australia for his birthday back in March. He took this picture in front of the Sydney Opera House on his birthday. He was seeing Bizet's Carmen that night. They must have some sort of photo booth that allows pictures to be taken and made into cards/souvenirs as it has the Opera House logo printed on the back. Very neat! Don't worry, I'll keep your magic number a secret!

China from JJ

Most weeks I can't keep up with my brother in law, he is literally, here, there - everywhere! Shortly after he returned from Sochi he was off to Beijing. He sent the kids and I these beautiful cards showing Great Wall of China. One of the most fascinating places I have been. The size and steepness is truly astounding. This also happens to be a UNESCO site.

OFFICIAL Card - Japan

I love when Postcrossers write a few words in their native language. Even more so when it is in a different alphabet. Kazu wrote a few simple words, such a Hello/Konnichiwa and it always fascinates me. So beautiful and to me it looks so hard! The card she chose for me show the Kasuga-taisha Shrine in Nara. It is also a UNESCO site.

I was thrilled when Suzana agreed to swap with me! She was offering cards postmarked with the special cancellation from Czech Republic. She had many cards to choose from which wasn't easy. This night view shows Wenceslas Square in Prague. She wrote the post office as pictured in the first link is just minutes from this spot. I didn't know that when I selected it - neat! I also wasn't aware this was part of a UNESCO site.

OFFICIAL Card - Germany

Daggi went for a weekend getaway to Weimar and sent this card to me. It shows different monuments in and around the city. Weimar is an UNESCO site. Her message was wonderful telling me what she saw and how much she enjoyed it. My favourite line is "...breathing history in every stone!" That is pretty poetic.
