OFFICIAL Card - Russia

When this card arrived from Kate I literally got teary-eyed. When I visited Moscow I brought back a tray very similar to the ones depicted on the card for my Grandmother as a souvenir. Thirty years later, the tray is now in my possession. I can't say that I use it, however I do remember how much she loved it and had it on display at her house. Receiving this card brought back a flood of wonderful memories of my Bubby and my trip. I also learnt what the style of painting is known as - Zhostovo. Have you ever received a card that triggered a strong emotion? Brought back memories in a snap?

OFFICIAL Card - Ukraine

Anna, a lawyer from Kiev sent this interesting card to me. The card itself is from Turkey and shows Evil Eye Beads. For some reason when I read this my mind sees "Red Devil" not "Red Evil", which then makes me wonder more as they are all blue and black not red. She shared her favourite quote with me which is great - "respect the past, create the future". Do you have a favourite quote?

OFFICIAL Card - Belarus

Aleh from Minsk, Belarus sent me this card 57 days ago - talk about a slow boat! There is no text on the back and I wasn't able to find anything on-line about Belarus and wheat but I am going to guess that it must be one of its major crops. From the handicrafts to the very funky head piece it must be used in many different ways.
