I saw a great map card of Illinois in the gallery and contacted the sender to see if they wanted to swap. Renee, who just so happens to be the #1 sender in the US said she didn't have anymore but she could send me one of her home state - Iowa. That was another I didn't have so was happy to swap. A week or so later this great map card, with a view of the capitol building (#3) as well, came through my mailbox.

OFFICIAL Card - New Zealand
Yesterday I received my very first card from New Zealand. To say I was super excited when I saw this card from Stephanie was an understatement. Funny how the little things in life can really perk you up! She tells me she lives in Auckland and while it is winter they never have snow. Wish I could say that some days! This is a great map with some beautiful views of her country. Check out the stamps too - really different.

OFFICIAL Card - Belarus
Anastasia lives in Polotsk, Belarus and sent me this card four weeks ago. It took awhile to get to me but this card is great and shows one of the most famous cathedrals in her city, Holy Cross Cathedral of the Convent of the Saviour and St Euphrosyne.
OFFICIAL Card - Hong Kong
Vincy is 15 and lives in Hong Kong and sent me this card two weeks ago. She wrote saying even though Lunar New Year had passed she saw on my wish list that I liked receiving cards with this theme. I don't know if the scan will do it justice, the colours on the circular design are simply stunning. She also said this is the first card she was sending to Canada. She is on summer break from school and it is stormy out as she wrote this due to a typhoon.

Direct Swap - Ken from USA
I was in touch with Ken about two weeks ago after I saw a map card he sent in the gallery. He was happy to do a swap and requested a skyline of Toronto. The map of his home state of Missouri came in the mail last week and my collection is happily growing.
OFFICIAL Card - USA
Radio lives in the Shenandoah Valley and sent me this great card from their home state. It has an outline map, the state flower (dogwood) and state bird. I had just seen a cardinal the day I received this card last week. A rare treat these days for me.
OFFICIAL Card - Germany
Birgit sent me this card which took 3 days to travel to me. Once again, the German post is super fast! It shows great views around Munich - the new town hall (upper left), Cathedral of our Dear Lady (upper middle left) and Nymphenburg Palace (upper middle right). It also shows Munich Olympic Park in the lower middle left.
