OFFICIAL Card - Netherlands

This was my first card that I received from The Netherlands last June. At the time I didn't know that I would receive more cards from this country than any other! Ans, sent me this card in an envelope along with a few other goodies. She had hurt her writing hand so she typed me a note. While I do prefer my cards stamped and written there is so much more you can say in a note that to receive the odd one does not bother me that much. She also sent me the front page of her local paper which is neat to see even if I can't understand it.

The card she sent is a painting from the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and is called View of Amersfoort by Anthonie Waldrop (1803-1866). She wrote telling me that Amersfoort is the most central town and the oldest and highest church tower is nicknamed "Lange Jan" or "Long John". It is often used as a reference point for many maps. The stamps she used are pre-Euro from 2002. She tells me the middle stamp is promoting EHBO, First Aid and suggests I practice with my favourite partner. Too funny!
