Another card I received today from the Netherlands is this one from Anneke. This is the famous water tower of Coevorden. I just love any building covered in ivy. It so reminds me of the house I grew up in. Sadly, my husband hates it, otherwise I would have planted all over our houses together. Anneke tells me the tower used to clean and distribute the town's water but in the 1960's it slowly came out of use. It is now a monument. So pretty.
I would love to visit the country it came from but the building itself reminds me of a chess piece! Have to agree with the hubby...Working in real estate, I've seen a couple of houses with major repairs due to Ivy. It goes right through into the attic and into the drywall.
